This was a total surprise. Last week I took the time and updated my Mac system. I wasn’t thinking anything. I wasn’t expecting anything. But to my surprise, it also updated Obsidian.

And it was such a nice surprise that gave me the energy and motivation to use Obsidian more.

I love the new design of Obsidian. I like the tabs. I like the breadcrumb navigation. I like the new appearance settings and being able to define an accent color so easily.

It doesn’t only look different. Somehow it also feels different.

This update just came at the right time. The timing couldn’t have been better. I started to neglect Obsidian in the last couple of months. But I wanted to use it again. I want to get back into the habit of using it.

However, one feature I still wish for is to get more control over the graph view.

I’m currently using the plugin “Persistent Graph”, which is great, to be able to save and restore my graph view but I would like to have even more control over the graph.

I would Iike to drag and drop nodes however I like and ignore the forces that pull nodes together. I would like to select multiple nodes and drag them somewhere else in the graph view. I basically want to be able to organize and structure my graph.

Is there maybe already a way to get more control over the graph view? Is there a setting I’m missing? Or is there a combination of settings I can adjust to get the desired effect?

Anyway. Even without total control over the graph view, I like the new design of Obsidian and I’m looking forward to using it regularly.
