I took a break from Obsidian

Hey hey. I have been writing and posting very inconsistently lately. It’s basically because I took a break from Obsidian. I focused on other projects and didn’t take many notes nor used Obsidian at all. I just had no real Obsidian experience to write about.

But now I’m back. Hopefully.

Lately, I started working on a personal project of mine. I want to build my own journaling app.

Yes, yet another note-taking journaling app. A note-taking app that might not be for you. It will have a minimalistic design and minimalistic but strange features. I like using my keyboard to control stuff, so I dream of adding a lot of keyboard control to it.

Right now it is a lot of fun building it. I enjoy it. And as a side effect, I’m also investing time into learning Vue3.js and Vite — programming languages to build this strange journaling app. So because of this new learning journey and project, I neglected Obsidian a bit.

But today I didn’t feel like working on my journal. So I opened up Obsidian and organized some old notes.

To my surprise, I enjoyed it so much. It was just nice to use Obsidian again and organize notes to make sense of a topic.

So, I want to get back to Obsidian. I want to get back to Obsidian and work on my own journaling app. I want to do both. I’ll probably distribute my time to whatever I feel like doing that day. I will make one of both my highlight for the day and the other one a “let’s invest a couple of minutes here to not neglect it again”.

I’m also thinking about sharing my journaling-app-project journey here. Would you be interested?

Hopefully, it works out and I might be able to manage both projects — Obsidian and my journaling project.
