We plan. We plan to build habits. We plan to change our character. We plan to redefine ourselves.

But a plan never seems to be enough.

We have the desire to change.

But that desire never seems to be enough.

What does matter? What is the key to change?

What matters is now.

No plan, no desire will allow us to change. What we have to do is to act now. Act in the present moment.

We prepared routines we want to follow. We planned habits we want to build. We decided what we want to learn. We thought about what kind of person we wanted to be. But what matters is what we do now, how we act now.

Will you work out today?

Will you act with kindness now?

Will you take time to learn and satisfy your curiosities now?

It doesn’t matter what happened yesterday. It doesn’t matter what might happen tomorrow. The only thing that matters is the present moment. This is our chance to change. Our chance to make a small step.

What are you doing at this very moment?

Will you fall back into old habits, attitudes, and old thought patterns? Or will you do what you said you wanted to do?

Have minimalistic new year resolutions but be consistent with them. You don’t have to do everything at once. You can do it step by step. You don’t have to do it yearly. You can do it whenever you want. Just do what you want to do now and do it consistently. Adjust as you go. Try to change only one thing at a time.
