This changed my writing experience in Obsidian
I’m not very comfortable writing these articles or even notes inside Obsidian. I always have a fear of making mistakes, writing poorly, spelling words wrong, or using incorrect grammar.
But Grammarly gave me the confidence to just write and to just take notes. I don’t have the fear lingering in the back of my mind. I can just write freely without worrying too much. I can be in a flow of writing without getting disrupted by my own mind.
My writing and note-taking journey didn’t start in Obsidian. It started in Notion. One major reason for this decision was the Google Chrome extension of Grammarly. It gave me the confidence to start writing.
Grammarly is such a great tool.
the revelation
For whatever reason, I thought Grammarly is not working with Obsidian. I googled it once and found that people want access to Grammarly inside Obsidian. It is a requested feature. That’s why I thought it is not possible. I thought they don’t work together.
In the meantime, I moved my note-taking system from Notion to Obsidian. But I still kept drafting and writing articles in Notion because of Grammarly. I didn’t have the confidence to make the switch.
After a very long time, I just installed the Mac version of Grammarly. I wanted to use it inside different apps. But to my surprise, it was also working with Obsidian.
I remember the moment after I opened Obsidian. I saw the red underlines all around my messy notes and it made me smile.
Grammarly works nicely with Obsidian.
So for all you Grammarly and Obsidian nerds out there. They work together. At least for me and on my Mac. I hope it also works on other operating systems. I hope it also works for you. Just try it out.
Because of this great surprise, I now moved most of my note-taking system and writing process to Obsidian. Grammarly once more gave me confidence.
